February 12, 201016 yr wondering if anyone knows the best seats to choose on the cheap air asia flight to london. Its an a 340 as far as im aware. Better yet anyone know a good airline that could possibly beat 450 all in leaving in sept. Air asia seems to be the best to ldn but any last minute surprises would be welcomed
February 12, 201016 yr Wow that's cheap! I did not even know that Air Asia flew International. Just paid $1600.00 US for 2 adult tickets (Each) and $1300.00 for our son on Korean Air round trip BKK- New York. I like the bulkhead personally, or an exit seat is good too. More leg room. BTW was the ticket 450? Edited February 12, 201016 yr by mizzi39
February 12, 201016 yr look at seat guru or airlinequality Information there about seats and other important things
February 12, 201016 yr I think the closest your getting is flying with the India carriers Jet, though I still don't think you will beat this price.
February 12, 201016 yr Author BEAT IT!!! For some reason the price dropped again!! I got the return and everything all in for 336 quid!!!!
February 12, 201016 yr Recently did BKK-KL-Stanstead return. Had seats in row 21 next to the emergency exits which had plenty of room for a small extra fee. All in price of 19k bht which was a bargain.
February 12, 201016 yr Can't beat Bt450 return for sure but I wouldn't pay £450 (plus all the other extras you'll have to fork out for - better think door to door costs for a true price) for AirAsiaX or whatever they are called these days. Eva had flights for 20k plus taxes and Etihad for about 19k plus taxes. They will both be around the 30k mark, or about £575. I;ll bet the total cost of the Air Asia trip is around that after the incidental flights, hotel, food, drinks, etc.
February 12, 201016 yr BEAT IT!!! For some reason the price dropped again!! I got the return and everything all in for 336 quid!!!! They sold you a return ticket but that is so cheap are you sure that you will get back. At that price, I think you get to sit in the captains seat.

February 13, 201016 yr Sealy said, in part, "- not forgetting they fly old faulty planes mostly.i.e. re-rerun planes." For the record, Air Asia X operates two Airbus A340s on the Kuala Lumpur - Stansted route. They were delivered new from the Airbus factory in February and March 2009.
February 13, 201016 yr Check out Sri Lankan airlines, they have seats one way BKK/KUL/SIN to LHR via Colombo for just over £200 inc tax.And you get fed... Not so cheap coming back but you can always get a one way on the Air Asia X Stansted to KL flight.
February 13, 201016 yr The Air Asia X A340's were not delivered brand new from the airbus factory in 2009. They are both ex Air Canada acft and are 10.5 years old, and perfectly serviceable modern acft and not "old faulty planes"

February 14, 201016 yr ".. one flight just before take-off, in sydney, i believe ,had a jammed door that just could not close." Airasia does not fly in or out of Sydney.
February 14, 201016 yr <snip>on old faulty planes, not long ago, one flight just before take-off, in sydney, i believe ,had a jammed door that just could not close. <snip>.......................................... i stand corrected. Again Ouch! This is getting embarrassing
February 15, 201016 yr on old faulty planes, not long ago, one flight just before take-off, in sydney, i believe ,had a jammed door that just could not close.this was reported here in one thaivisa forum on airasia by one passenger/thaiforum member. for other faults of airasia, check the ozzi and uk travel on-line leads. i stand corrected. Air Asia must be failing to maintain their navigation systems too if they managed to wind up at Sydney.
February 15, 201016 yr Air Asia must be failing to maintain their navigation systems too if they managed to wind up at Sydney. Yep, Stansted is in the opposite direction.
February 17, 201016 yr ".. one flight just before take-off, in sydney, i believe ,had a jammed door that just could not close."Airasia does not fly in or out of Sydney. point taken, as i said, i stand corrected. but in this thread here in thaivisa, it was reported by a passenger on this jammed door incident last year. a cursory view through the thread would reveal that this accident- amongst many delayed flights and other incidents- did happen, unless of course someone has decided to delete it.
February 25, 201016 yr if your flight goes beyond two hours, trust me, all airlines are not equal. the cheaper airlines are not able to offer equal choices of seats or comfort. pay a little bit more and enjoy the journey. cheap airline tickets are like cheap food on the roadsides, you eat the cheap food next to dumps or swirling flies and bugs. long flight journeys can be smooth as silk or like a breath of fresh air, alternatively, it can a guntanamo or bangkok hilton in the air. l

They were delivered new from the Airbus factory in February and March 2009. the malaysian financial times and magazines reported otherwise in their midyear reports on airasia. in fact, airasia ordered more than two planes and ran into cash problems. maybe, only maybe, you are right. one reader here noted new planes were delivered, but refurbished ones like what most poor asian countries have, like druk air , royal nepal, lion air or the likes. i fly airasia quite a bit.......and definitely like to know where we are heading with airasiaespecially on safety, delays ,etc. etc. Edited February 25, 201016 yr by tass
