I will be selling a piece of propery in Florida soon that my late father had left for me and I am wondering if anyone can advise me on the best way to make the transfer without paying big fees and banks etc? I have had a SCB Account here for 9 years and I do have a Lawyer in the states that will be doing it all but he does not know the best way.

I cannot go to USA to get the money iether so.....

Any help would be greatful. :)

Just wire the money to you bank account over here. There is only a $40 wire charge. they convert to Bth from $ at the going rate. All bank have the same exchange rate set by Bangkok Bank

My experiences duplicate what Givernall says. Or you can have the lawyer simply wire the money to your Thai bank account (IN DOLLARS!, again as Givenall says) deducting the wire fee. This is assuming he has a power of attorney to do so.

If you have no U.S. bank account and your lawyer currently does not have the authority to wire the money, you can execute a limited power of attorney and have it notarized at the U.S. consulate and send it to him.

Bank of America to SCB any amount $35.

Do not bring over more than you need here. If it is a large amount and you want to take it out of Thailand for any reason you may run into problems.
