First Extention On None "o" Visa

Featured Replies

Hello to you all , this is my first attempt at getting an extention on my none "o" visa . I am married to a Thai lady and have been living here in Thailand on a none "o" , on and off for 2 years now . My circumstances have recently changed and i would now like to stay here full time with a hope of getting a residency permit later on . I have read the list of requirements for getting an extention , but there are slight and very important differances , depending on which web site you visit . My question is this . If my wife wishes to support me , what proof of income would we both be required to provide . My visa expires in July , so when should i make the trip to immigration . Any advice that you could give us would be very gratrfully recieved . Thank you ............Chillie

Your wife cannot support you for an extension of stay, it has to be your income only. You would have to option of showing 400,000 in a bankaccount in Thailand in your name for at least 2 months prior to applying. Doesn't matter if the wife gives you that money, as long as the account is in your name.

As said it has to be your income/money.

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.

Go to immigration within the last 30 days of your current permission to stay.

It is usually suggested that you go at least a couple of weeks early in case there is some paperwork requested of you that you requires a 2nd visit.

You would need 3 consecutive 1 year extensions plus paying healthy taxes in Thailand during the whole 3 years to apply for PR. Have a look at the pinned topic "Camerata's Guide to the PR Process" for more information.
