Hello all,

I was looking for some help on translating the name of my gym in the UK into Thai script and also would like to know if the meaning is the same, also how is it said.

My grasp of the Thai language is very basic so any help would be much appreciated.

The name of my gym is Fighting Fit Gym.

Someone from the gym has tried getting this translated before but was told it didn't really translate and he ended up with something like 'ready for war' which i thought there must be a closer one.

I'm not sure if the term 'fighting fit' is used as it is used in english but hopefully someone can help me out.

That's a great name for a gym, I can't believe no other gym has that! I read it out to my Thai friend and 'fighting fit' doesn't have any equivilent in Thai, which I never knew before.

When you say someone is fighting fit, you're saying they are very fit and healthy - fit enough for a fight - it's really the same thing emphasised by the famous gym name 'Fitness First' isn't it?

Initially my friend said it's very hard to think of a name, but suggested

Suut-yort-heng-gan-dtor-suu

It might make Thai's think that it's the perfect gym; only the fittest, strongest, fastest people will come, which is kind of the meaning behind 'Fighting Fit Gym' name isn't it?

However, the gym sounds like a gym for men, so if it is, my friend suggested

Chan-churn-chai

ชั้นเชิงชาย

This is quite suggestive, like if you don't try you won't know, which is deliberately ambiguous.
