Non Immigrant 1 Year Visa

Recommended Posts

I currently have a multi entry visa and return to the UK shortly. I will return in late summer and am thinking about applying for an 1 year visa( I am over 50 and retired) is it called 'O' annual maybe? I will need to show my income so will my form from the inland revenue showing income and tax paid do or is something else required? I am a bit short of the required sum here I think it will probably be about 12.5 to 13k so I think I will have to put the difference in a thai Bank, so will a thai bank book do the trick? I am thinking I will have to have about 3-3.5k sterling in the account, dpending on the rate is that right?

Thanks for any information forthcoming and I do find these forums wonderful fonts of knowledge, well done to you all

The rules.

(1) The alien has obtained a temporary visa (NON-IM);

(2) The applicant is 50 years of age or over;

(3) Proof of income of not less than Baht 65,000 per month; or

(4) Account deposit with a bank in Thailand of not less than

800,000 Baht as shown in the bank account for the past 3 months at the filing date of the application. For the first year, the applicant should have that amount in his bank account for not less than 60 days or

(5) Annual income plus bank account deposit totaling not less

than Baht 800,000 as of the filing date of application

You need a letter from the British Embassy as proof of income.

Yes cash in a Thai Bank can make up the shortfall.

Just out of interest, was there ever a conclusion to the confusion as to whether the monthly income has to be shown net of tax, or gross?

I remember a thread about the British Embassy being told that only a net figure would be accepted by immigration. But, as usual i cant find it now :)

Thats a good point about net of income tax or not and the letter from the British Embassy can I get that in UK or is it in Bangkok that I have to contact and what do I need to show them?

Details on this page of the Embassy Website. http://ukinthailand.fco.gov.uk/en/help-for...ng-in-thailand/

Still no definitive answer on the Gross/Net issue. The member did say that he received the letter with the Net amount given.
