THere are a few groups of mainly oldies (but some goodies) who play. Nothing formal. Look on koratfarang website.

Hi Loz

Thanks for the reply. I have looked on that site but i have only seen postings that were for 2007,so not much help there, but im going to Korat next week so maybe i,ll see someone on the course. :)

Well, if you arrive at Army course around 8:15 you'll more than likely run into some farang of mixed nationalities playing at 8:30. If you go to rooks on Friday you might find some around 9am, Tiger Tuesday at 8ish again might well find company. So that should get you started. Don't know which bit of the forum u checked but they organised a mini tourney last year through the forum so I think there will be much more recent posts that 2007.

FYI, some of the staff at army are complete <deleted> kunts. I refuse to play there again. The numbe one guy in charge is charming but his third in comand and the starters and some caddies leave a lot to be desired in the manners and honesty department. Tiger is a different kettle of fish. SMiles all round and very helpful about getting you off on your way with minimal fuss. Rooks is a lovely course but some bawk at the "dual" pricing. Caddies are generally mature and competent. Voyage Panorama is a little out of town in Sikew (about 15 minutes past Seagate company on Highway 2 to BKK) but offers the best course with very fast greens. 900bht during the week is not bad for a world class course (world student championships have been held there before).

Hope you find something you enjoy when you come here. Whats the golf like in Chaiyapum?

Wow thats a lot of info, thanks again, loz.

Its the 11th when i,ll be there, got to take the mother in law to the hospital first, then head off to the Army course, thats the only course that i thought i would be able to find quite easily. I take all your comments on board. Maybe i,ll try that tigers course instead.

I am 70kms west of Chaiyaphum and the only decent golf course is at chulaporn dam,so i hear, i,ve not played there as it still nearly 200kms from me,there is a 9 hole course 80kms from me but its <deleted>,can,t even get a decent lye on the tee box :) .

If you fancy a game sometime we,ll have to meet up.

You are welcome!

I'm a 21 H/capper desperate to break 90 this year, so I might slow you down. But sure I'd be happy to catch up for a knock sometime. I suspect I will be heading down to Bonanza next thursday (11th) but should things change... PM a number and I'll see if we can't get a round in at Tiger. How much time do you have and when are you thinking of Teeing off?

Or another time when you are around...

Shame there is nothing more local for you in Chaiyapum.

Tiger is easy to find. head out of Korat past the mall on your right and Tesco Lotus on the left. about half a km you will see signs to turn left to Pak tong chai (in English) take that turn. go up the road about 1.5 km and you will see the Pepsi factory on your left, take the next left turn (about 70yards) and go straight down to the 90 degree left bend. 400 yards after the bend is the entrance to Tiger on your right. the driving range is dead ahead but turn right at the entrance gate to head to the course and club house. you'll see the caddy shack on your left before the first tee, stop and they'll take your bag.

Hope this helps.

Did you get a good round in?

I went to Bonanza as planned. Shot my personal best there of 89. First time under 90s!

How did you get on?

Hi Loz mean,t to pm you yesterday but no internet connection. In Chaiyaphum town sending this now.Well done on your 89,you,ll have to break the 80,s next. your directions were spot on found it easily. Not a bad track bit noisy though, still the caddy was good and steered me past a six ball Korean group :D . As for me i couldn,t hit a cows arse with a shovel. I,m picking my daughter from England at bkk tommorow (god willing),then its off to pattaya for 10days so if we can hook in three weeks time and have a knock ,that will be great. I,ll leave the course and tee off time to you,if thats ok :) .Pm sometime.
