Buses/minibuses To Ayutthaya Stop Around 7pm?

Featured Replies

Hi all. I'm reading on the internet that the buses to Ayutthaya from Mochit stop running around 7ish. I'm also reading the mini buses from Victory monument end around the same time. I'm landing at Swampy 5:30. figure an hour to get bags and get through immigration. another 30 minutes to take free shuttle bus to transport area where I'd catch either a 99xx bus coming from pataya to mochit(about an hour) getting me to northern bus terminal around 8PM, or else bus 555 to Victory monument(up to 2 hours w/traffic?)getting me to where the mini buses are at around 9PM. Am I SOL on getting to Ayutthaya on the cheap the same night? or are there still mini busses running after 9PM? or other non government busses running later than 8 from Mochit? If I'm stuck in Bangkok for the night, which area(victory monument or Mochit) would I have better luck finding a cheap room(500 baht) on foot?

thanks in advance

Could always get yourself to Hualamphong train station, or Sam Sen, Bang Seu, and take the train up. They run to 10pm and it's only a few baht 3rd class to Ayuthaya. Have a look.
