The bike mechanic whos services I use, has told me that on the evenings of the 11th and 12th March, there will be a classic bike meet held around Nai Harn lake, starting at around six. Bikes are supposedly coming from all over Thailand.

Anyone heard more about this?

I'll take this customized 1981 Honda C90.

more style than our Fino - but we'll be there for a look about the place.

I was there yesterday taking my daughter to the playground area. Looked to be a fair number of bikes, some booths selling biker related gear as well as qute a few food vendors. There was also a beer chang booth and a stage that had a band playing. As I was leaving I passed by a table that sits in front of the access to the park and it looked like they were selling tickets. Probably going to be a lot of fun tonight.

I was there last night. Lots of great bikes. A VW camper van that doubled as a bar.

Beers are 50 Baht (buy tickets and redeem them for a beer at any of the numerous bars). Cocktails and spirits are 89 Baht. Lots of good food. It costs 100 Bt if you are displaying a bike (think it's free otherwise).

Should be better today as word spreads.

and just a few more

What a joke , ive seen better bike displays at Tesco Lotus carpark , 100 baht each to get in and all to see maybe 30 bikes which belong to various hog clubs none of which gave me wood .... next time these clubs want to do a fundraiser maybe classic bike show should be changed to classic piss up ...... ripped off !!!!!

Yeah well....event name is misleading to be honest.

As far as entrance fees are concerned, I just rode in - nobody asked me to pay anything. Later, I noticed stand selling something and asked the lady what is it. She said it is 2 day entry card and proceeds from sale go to purchase of new trash bins for the area or something like that. I bought one without being pressured to do so.

First night there were about 80 bikes displayed all over the place. This was not really a bike show, just an event for bikers to get together and collect some money for good cause.

I expected to see some vintage bikes too, assumed they will be specially brought there for public viewing but that wasn't the case.

Anyhow, show was poorly organized IMO but that is understandable because it is the first time. Hopefully they'll learn on their mistakes and organize it better next year.

All sorts of bikes at display: from beautiful Honda C90 belonging to Karen Bravo (whom I met) to 1500-1800cc bikes.

There were bunch of those "mini bikes", no idea how you call them but they looked quite attractive.

Few customized choppers, most viewed was the one with skull gas tank.

As usual bunch of Harleys and there was impressive Gold Wing.

Noticed few sport bikes, namely R1, CBR 1000, BMW R1100, Buell, Black Bird, Ducati 900 etc...

I stayed until 10pm first night and went for agroup ride following day at 1pm. With police escort we went from Nai Harn lake to viewpoint where they gave us free beer :) , everybody very friendly, don't matter what bike you ride.

Then we cruised down the main road in Rawai all the way to Hayek Chalong before proceeding to Kata, Karon and resting at Kata View Point before going back to Nai Harn.

At that point, my bike and another Ducati were seriously overheating due to costant slow ride in 2nd gear. It took me 20 mins to restart the engine. Easy rider bikes were totaly unafected by heat and agonizingly slow ride.

Will post few pics later on.

I was there the second night as well, which seemed quieter than the first night.

To be fair, the organisers said that next year it will be better organised, so, I presume that they know there have been deficiencies.

All in all it was a fun experience, everyone very friendly. I'll definitely be going next year. Best Mojitos I've ever had.

Yes, but, can you get 50 Baht beers and 89 Baht Mojitos in Tesco's car-park?

If the event was named Nai Harn cheap Beer and Mojitos ..... then i would understand , it was supposed to be a classic bike show with classic bikes from all over Thailand ,the only classic bike was yours Karen..... actually you win the award for best classic bike it is very nice ...... i expected some real classics instead of second rate hogs ...... i look forward to seeing the new bins at the beach ........

The ticket was for both days. If you minus the free can of beer, it cost about 30 baht to get in each day. Not sure what you ususaly get for 30 baht, but I had a good time both nights.

Events aren't as easy to organise as people would think. If they go again next year I'm sure it will improve. I'll be there for sure. Location is fantastic for a small event like that.
