March 7, 201016 yr I find the Besta Advanced Learner quite good and you also have a very good set of dictionaries. It is one of the few that can actually pronounce thai words correctly.

Hi Harrry, They said that the Besta Advance Learner cant use Malaysia & Singapore map. Is there some ways around to it ?
March 7, 201016 yr I am not familiar with the Besta Advance Learner GPS, but most people with the Garmin products are happy with them. I have a Magellan and it works very well in North America, but for some strange reason, Magelllan doesn't think Asia is part of the world that might need a maps on their GPS. All Magellan has is a VERY limited world map. It's good for pinpointing a location, but with no map available it's almost useless in knowing where you are located. The Garmin products my friends in Thailand have are great. But, the cost of the units are far more in Thailand than they are in North America. A top end Garmin was quoted at around $380 Canadian (about 12,000 baht). The same product in Thailand is about 20,000 baht.
March 7, 201016 yr There is a big market in Thailand for GPS units that can be user loaded with Thai language and maps - I too bring a few back with me every time I go to Europe - ideally ones that can be compared like for like (i.e. same model) as models avalible in Thailand - so folk can see exactly what they are getting and how much cheaper it is: they sell in a flash: post up on any of the Thai language fishing, hiking or flying websites (microlight, powered glider, PPG etc etc...) and you will sell whatever you bring out to Thailand very quickly.
