sawasdee krap..... :)

I did visited my friend's house in Songkhla 2 weeks before, it's very nice and lovely family.... they live in a big family... his grandmother is very kind... she loves me and take care of me much like his grandchild... I loves her cooked.... really tasty, Thai food almost tasty...

Thanks to Thaivisa.com, I'd get lot of benefits by learning Thai culture and languages... and I'm able to speak Thai nit nhoi....

by the way... how to address in a very polite way...

his grandmother =

his grandfather =

his mother =

his father =

his aunt =

his uncle =

his younger brother =

his niece =

For your info, my age is 23years same as my friend's age.... and his grandmother's around 64... I guess to put pii (พี่) is might be not much...as I always heard it's almost used that word for someone within 4-5 years old than us....

thanks for help, kind regard

You can play safe by just using the same addresses as your friend. Calling his mother Khun Mae should be fine.

Grandma is either Khun Yaa or Khun Yaay, depending on maternal or paternal side. If they are Chinese in origin, I'll probably use Ah Ma.

Pii is not so applicable for the reasons you've already mentioned.

For anyone slightly younger or lower than the hierarchy, you may attach a Nong before the name.
