Mobile Phone Internet Connection

Featured Replies

i have heard that you can use your cell phone for getting the internet to your computer.

Questions:

1. is it very slow??

2. can you buy a cheap cell phone with a usb port?

3. how much does it cost?

thanks a lot.

Look for a phone that has 3G, I have seen them secondhand in Thailand for 1500 Baht but did not have the usb cable with it. Another alternative is a USB 3G modem, does the same job as phone to give you interent. Look around phone shops and markets in your area.

I think a dongle with GPRS/EDGE and 3G would be the easiest way. Most places will just have GPRS/EDGE witch is mostly very slow, but ok for email and surfing.

1. if you are in bangkok or anywhere with 3G network support, the speed can be 3mbps

2. why not buy a usb modem or so called aircard

3. Upto specification level: HUAWEI , 7.2MP --around 2500-3000thb, USA brand: 3000 +

good luck in thailand
