Political Grand Strategy

Featured Replies

Caution - carefully worded post ahead...

We all know why the political tensions are happening at this very moment.

The country will soon experience change at its very top, and the only unknown component is the exact timing.

The new leadership would want popular support, but this will not be granted in the current situation, neither from the red nor would real support come from the yellow.

If the reds managed to seize power before that moment, their need for a new leadership would not be evident, and even less their support.

If they seize power, they would be in a position to do what they want

Yet, if the reds were defeated today, a new leader could later emerge and gain popularity by supporting some of the red's revendications like better healthcare, education, etc. because he "loves the Thai people", while guaranteeing continuity of the ruling class.

A great leadership could imprint his name into history books by pushing the "great reforms of 2011".

And the Thai people would love him for that.

This would be a win-win-win situation, which would effectively bring back a serene situation, everyone wins, but it requires the reds to concede the match today.

I hope for that to happen - best way to future stability if things play out as I expect.
