Featured Replies

Measures prepared to prevent hoarding of goods

BANGKOK (NNT) – The Department of Internal Trade (DIT) has prepared measures to prevent goods hoarding during the demonstration and asked all producers to continue regular distribution of goods.

DIT Director General Ms Chutima Bunyaprapat stated that the Department had prepared measures to deal with the instable situation and strengthen people’s confidence that the required commodities were enough during the demonstration.

She said that the measures included hoarding prevention, excess quantity possession, prohibition of mobilizing of rice and providing required commodities with the cooperation of the Public Warehouse Organization to manage and distribute products for the public .

The DIT Director-General added that producers, distributors, and related parties had been requested to continue their operation to prevent the shortage.

are they are just late to publish the news about this "crackdown" and it is measurement they thought about in the long run or is that totally urgent and breaking news fresh from the desk of the crisis management of this department?

or to ask in another way: should i hurry up now to get some water, rice, mama packs and candles aka hoarding some goods for personal use?

will sugar turn out as a lucrative investment?

I love this:

prohibition of mobilizing of rice

forbidden fruit is sweetest but better don't ask so much about it.

And lead us not into temptation

I just brought the last pack of marmite flavoured rice cakes from Villa.

Should I be worried or not ?

worried? i don't think that crackdown will look after the falang black market and your little trade. but it is still to early to sell. i would wait a few days open the package and then offer the pieces singly to the highest bidder.

Did you check the expiration date?

Marmite never expires and if it did, I'd still eat it.

:) No expiration date on MayKoooong whiskey and Wonder si dang cigs. Good for barter in case things go belly up.

Just tell me who is the guy hoarding the Heineken and how much he is asking for it.

I've got enough rice. You can never have enough beer.

Maybe this accounts for not being able to buy flour in the supermarket (well the expensive stuff yes) for 2 weeks??

Maybe Thai food will begin to taste better with little or no sugar in it :D:)

Pity they can't ration chilli peppers

I'd better lay low for a while... I topped off my car's fuel tank yesterday! :)

Rice cannot be made to move...

Don't move Rice, don't tell you twice.
