Is this related to:

1. The number of English readers in the catchments area?

2. A lousy newspaper?

3. Bad management?

4. Or what?

Wat Pa Monks Accused of Assault!

13 May 2005

the Korat Post

Today, 13 May 2005, Mrs.Tongmuan Anderson, this paper's owner and editor, visited the local police headquarters, at police reques, to provide testimony on behalf of two monks at Wat Pasalawan who are opposed to the current abbot. Approximately a month ago, the male assistant of "Ah Daeng" who slapped Mrs. Anderson's 59 year old assistant several times inside the temple compound on 12 February 2005, swore out a criminal plaint charging that the two monks had attacked him! More on this startling development.

From what I've briefly been reading over the past few months, the editor(s) of this paper have been using it as a vehicle to publicly announce their own feelings about what appears to be a personal fued. Isn't that usually a big no-no in the journalism business, especially here in Thailand? Talk about playing with fire...
