Credit Cards By International Post?

Featured Replies

Before my flight I applied for a credit card just in case I had any problems. It didn't come before I left so I'm going to get it sent over in the post. These cards have to be activated first before they can be used, but I'd still like a little bit more security than normal post.

What companies/services can you reccomend?

Thank you...

You dont say which country you will be getting the C/C sent from, but would suggest registered mail or courier to be on the safe side

Your credit card company will send it by the safest method, if they are sending you and most likely will be one of big international carrier, like Fed Exp, Airborn, etc.

I'm sending it from Australia if that makes a difference.

If you have a family member or friend doing the forwarding, they must ask whatever courier or mail service they use if sending plastic is permitted. Some international couriers have different rules and regulations depending on where the sender AND receiver are located.

The bank itself may have rules against sending unactivated plastic to overseas addresses and Thailand is black-listed by some banks.

Also you should check with the issuing bank on how the activation process is done. Some use a "local" ATM which may not work since you are in Thailand, others require you to call in and there's sometimes problems when it's done from a phone where they can't check caller ID (like an overseas phone or a roaming mobile phone).

Good luck!

I had Citibank send the card directly to me, and they do so without any problems. I've had a third-party send me credit cards via FedEx, again without any problems.

I'm sending it from Australia if that makes a difference.

I think it does, because Australia doesn't have the UK Royal Mail service, I believe. The_Eyebrow_by_brokenboulevard_by_The_Emoticon_Club.gif
