Visa Applications In Kl

Featured Replies

Hi,

i am currently waiting for my work permit to be sorted out and am in thailand on a 90 day type b visa. I am hoping to go to KL on April 10th to visit my parents who are passing through there. While there i was wondering if i can do one of the following two things;

1) if i have my work permit back can i extend my type B visa to a one year type B? If so, any idea of cost and waiting time?

2) if i don't have my work permit back can i apply for a new 90 day type B? Again, any idea of cost and waiting time?

If anybody can help me with that i would be very grateful. i have looked through their website without much luck.

1) KL will issue multiple entry Non-B visa against full company documents and at least 8 months remaining on work permit. Believe fee is 550MYR. Apply morning Day 1, collect afternoon Day 2.

2) You will need to take with you to the embassy Form WP3 receipt issued by local labour office on submission of work permit renewal papers. But will be single entry visa only (see above).

The alternative option is for you to apply for 12 months extension of stay based on employment at Thai immigration if you meet the requirements. Requirements being 50k/month salary for westerners (but does vary depending on nationality) and you to provide work permit and last tax return (if available), your employer to provide company registration papers and audited accounts/tax receipts for the last 2 years. Fee 1,900 baht.
