I am interested on selling some Miles that I accrued with Thai Airways international Royal Orchid program.

In my home-country, selling Miles is acceptable.

Is it ok allowed here in Thailand with Thai airways Royal orchid member program ??

Or also I could get a ticket then sell it.

Any views would be welcome.

15. The selling, purchasing, bartering, auctioning or exchanging of all Royal Orchid Plus Awards, including Award tickets, for compensation is strictly prohibited. THAI reserves the right to withhold or confi scate award documents, void remaining miles, close accounts, terminate membership, with or without notice, in the event of any member found to be conducting a commercial transaction with third parties involving Award documents.

Don't get me wrong it's done, but if you are going to do so better to do for someone you know... ie family/mates. I've known a few people try this on Ebay and person who replied actually worked for the airline. Subsequently lost all their miles for trying this on.

Anyways I was not by all means trying to sell my Miles here in Thaivisa. I just needed to clarify this matter hence in my home-country you CAN sell your Miles to anyone you want.

out of interest if 1 person is awarded miles how can you sell them?- are they not in the name of the person and can only be used by the named person?

^No you can use your miles to get a ticket for anyone these days, least on Star Alliance.

i think, you have to name the person first in your "Nominee List",(in your Member Profile on ROP) then you can apply for a ticket for this person.

If you give it to the person for free , or for a little "Fee" is up to you.....
