Best Current Place For Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

I am currently in Thailand on an arrival 30 day stay. I need to go on a visa run on or about the 8th, where would you suggest, Penang perhaps ? Flight ?

I have not had a tourist visa for three years and have only been in and out of Thailand a few times during the past three years. I do however have a red stamp from Laos a few years back.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

Exiting and re-entering Thailand will give you new 30 day visa exempt permission to stay on arrival by air, or 15 days if arriving at land border crossing. Is really up to you as to what fits your plans best. If you decide to fly have a look at some of the budget airline websites such as AirAsia, Bangkok Air etc.

I was thinking about a 60 day tourist visa.

Red stamp from time back may be an issue within the region, and probably more likely so at Vientiane (and maybe Penang). There was a report here from Jan-2010 of a member obtaining new tourist visa at Phnom Penh after receiving red stamp at Vientaine. KL may issue too, as is helpful and accommodating embassy, but there are no guarantees.

Vientanne, KL or PP should be fine unless you are a problem child...
