Does anyone have experience in obtaining a Thai tourist visa in Singapore. I was going to take a short trip of several days there and thought, while there, I could apply on the first day for a tourist visa and get it the next day----has anyone tried this or know if that is possible--or if not Singapore, a suggestion for a quick side trip, via air, to do so.

Should not be a problem. Apply morning Day 1 and collect afternoon Day 2. Would suggest checking requirements with embassy before arriving, as can often change at short notice and website is not always up to date.
