Copy Of Thai Marriage Certificate Requred

Featured Replies

I was married in Thailand in 1983 and over the years the certificate has got torn and the ink has faded such that it is very difficult to read. I have a scanned copy that I can use to produce printed copies, but in most cases I have to produce the original document as well.

My wife and I returned to the amphur office where we were married and asked about getting a copy. The officer did not want to spend time discussing it, he just said that it was too long ago and they had no copy. When I asked how could I get a new copy he suggested we get a divorce and re-marry and then proceeded to usher us out of the office.

So, does anybody know if it's possible to get a copy?
