Just a report. One month ago I applied for a non O visa, 1 yea, multiple entry, based on marriage. I had all the documents requested, bank account showing more than 400k for more than 3 months and my wife with me. It was the firts time for me applying for this type of visa. In Penang it was refused. They told me that the first time I apply I need to show at least 800k in my Thai bank. No problems and no questions in KL.

When applying at KL most members report that a bank account of 100,000 Baht is enough.

If you had 400,000 Baht in the bank you could have got a 12 month extension from Immigration in Thailand. Cheaper and no need for border runs every 90 days.

I know. I went to Malaysia on Holiday and to visit a friend of mine so I applied also for my visa. Probably next year I will extend it here in Thailand
