What Are These 'stamp' Like Things On My Lease ?

Featured Replies

I recently leased a new apartment, I was looking up the full postal address tonight and noticed a page full of 'stamps' with a line ruled through them was attached to the back of my lease documents.

Any idea what they are and what they are for ?

The stamps say tax stamp so you paid 385 baht tax on on the lease.

Ok, thanks, the company who owns the apartment must have paid this themselves out of the first months rent, there was no extra charge to me.

They must be doing it all fully legit and on the books !

They are general revenue stamps and are very common. These are known as the musician type.

Different types are used for different tax-liable objects like the long paper strip types over the cap of a bottle of spirits

or the short stubby one on cigarette packets.

I collect postage stamps, not revenues, but they are collectable although as I said these are too common. The pen cancellation is normal and much neater than some I have seen.
