sarahsbloke Posted April 6, 2010 Posted April 6, 2010 Thailand, like the rest of the world, is suffering the initial impact of global warming/climate change. Hot for a week ..... GLOBAL WARMING .... we're all dooooooooomed! Cold for a month ........ proof of GLOBAL WARMING ....... we're all doooooomed! PS If global warming was true there would be much more food avaliable in the world and much more livable land, Siberia and Alaska are huge.

aras Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Thailand, like the rest of the world, is suffering the initial impact of global warming/climate change. The data the scientists use says that the there is a " global cooling down" since 1998/1999 the usefullness of the data is disputed though. The data comes from satelites if i remember correctly, so high up and hence the dispute....
RickBradford Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 There has been slight cooling if you look at 2002-2009 (-0.12C per decade), but slight warming if you look at 1995-2009 (+0.12C per decade). Both of these periods are too short to base any long-term predictions on, scientists say. That second series includes the very hot El Niño year of 1998. We are apparently headed for a repeat of that this year (same reason), so expect more hot weather in Thailand.
webfact Posted April 7, 2010 Author Posted April 7, 2010 Bhumibol Dam power output peaks as mercury soars By The Nation Power generation at Bhumibol Dam hit a 46year high on Monday. "On Monday, the mercury soared well above 43 degrees Celsius in Tak," dam director Boonin Chuenchavalit said yesterday. The 23.53 gigawatts consumed on that day from the hydropower plant were the most since 1964. Bhumibol Dam is located in Tak's Sam Ngao district. Its reservoir now holds just 1.53 billion cubic metres of usable water - only 15.8 per cent of its maximum capacity, he added. -- The Nation 2010-04-07 [newsfooter][/newsfooter]
SiangDeeMahk Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 She hasn't got a thermometer but the mrs just told me 'wery hot honey' You married Elmer Fudd? If Elmer Fudd looked like one of these: you might marry him(?), too. And oops. did it just get even HOTTER? hehe
BigWheelMan Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 29.5 Celsius in my office right now with AC on full power. 41.2 outside.Note to self: Fix that roof insulation for next year Well George, you are head of ThaiVisa and I want to know what you are going to do about this heat wave? How about using the Thaivisa private jet for a bit of cloud seeding? Bladdy hot where I am in Chiang Mai. The outer walls of my house are too hot to touch and that’s from the inside and the ceramic tile flooring burns the feet when walking on them. Even the aircon has reached it`s limits. As usual in April, I have been able to obtain that movie star bronze suntan; only difference between this year and all the other years is that I don’t have to venture outdoors.
BigWheelMan Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 She hasn't got a thermometer but the mrs just told me 'wery hot honey' You married Elmer Fudd? If Elmer Fudd looked like one of these: you might marry him(?), too. And oops. did it just get even HOTTER? hehe That`s no good, I`m hot enough as it is. How about importing one of these, perfect for this time of year:
mca Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 She hasn't got a thermometer but the mrs just told me 'wery hot honey' You married Elmer Fudd? If Elmer Fudd looked like one of these: you might marry him(?), too. Highly unlikely because that would make him a katoey and Homie don't play that!
SiangDeeMahk Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 She hasn't got a thermometer but the mrs just told me 'wery hot honey' You married Elmer Fudd? If Elmer Fudd looked like one of these: you might marry him(?), too. Highly unlikely because that would make him a katoey and Homie don't play that! Haha.. I wondered how long it would take for someone to spot that. Although even I spent a good deal of time scrutinizing the one on the left (not as easy to detect as the fairly manhandy-looking one on the right). Still either way, they're both pretty impressive (and certianly impressive as compared with some of the more aptly named "Elmers" passing for "marryable material" in other parts of the world..) But enough.. we're getting way, WAY offtopic.. Back to our regularly scheduled weather report:
Nerone Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 Woo now I know why the red shirts are here. It is too hot back home Hope they go to protest more south when the Tsunami comes...
