So it looks like Thaksin is about to succeed?

Hmmm.... in any event, rumor has it that he is suffering from prostate cancer and is now in Dubai. His recent chemo treatments have really sapped him of energy. The end may be near for this man.

This kind of vicious rumor mongering in intelligent human being is dispicable. If it is a rumor you didn't make up you should at least have the guts topost the source that the person starting the rumor could be confronted.

Everyone, no matter what side or neutral should condem this cowardly act. Would your family appreciate such a rumor about you.

This is going too far. It is time to back off an act civilized.

I read they left truck with weapons that the protesters could reach... the military seem to have their fair share of morons.

@redsunset: do you have a bigger font please, rumors are always better with a big font.

Tell that to Jatuporn Arisman Veera and Weng please

Did Thaksin ever act civilised ? hopefully he'll suffers agonies like his victims did at Tak Bai and those innocents massacred in the war on drugs along with a prominent missing Muslim lawyer.

You get out of life that which you put into it.

Just a thought

If all the protesters are moving out to Pathum Thani.

Why do the police and army move into Rajprason and

take down stage and make it so that the area cannot

be taken over again by the protestors when they return?

Just a thought

I have not been down to the protest sites .. but this seems simple enough

Do the reds leave are group of red gaurds to stop this from happening?

How many?

Sure not enough to prevent their stages and what not to be removed

There are only maybe 100 reds in front of Central World, hiding in the shade of the overbridge. And then there are speakers there, loud enough to be shaking the skytrain cabin when it's at the Chidlom station...

What is happening now is in my opinion the end of Abhisit.......It is obvious now that he will not be able to anything anymore....

Either the police are incompetent or they have abandoned the PM. Unless he fires some generals and finds ones who will take action he will have not credibility left. The reds are out of control and law and order need to be given back to the Thai people. Is the army as useless as the police?

Abhisit made his stance clear last night. No violence. Repelling an attack on vital telecommunications infrastructure evidently required some limited force. I think it is far too early to make judgments on what is really going on out there and what may be going on behind the scenes. In order not to look the fool I will reserve judgment until more information is available.

So the gov;t should move in, dismantle the stage and what not

Then block the way back to this intersection, force them back

to the huts under the bridge

Use the Army, not the police

Police aren't being paid enough to want to deal with this situation

Call in the army, this is what they are trained for, combat!!!

The reds have provoked enough already ... giv'em what they deserve

A bobby stick here ... a plastic bullet there .... tear gas canister or 200

Time for PM to deal with it NOW ... or quit ...

This story has no happy ending for Democrats, period ...

Reds will not give up their struggle ... time action to end it

Hilarious!!!

No cocktails were thrown but the army guys gassed themselves!!

They threw some gas bombs without checking the wind so ended up breathing it themselves and the reds went to their rescue with water then showed them the way out. Lots of grins and thank yous from both sides.

Lets hope they don't start shooting as a lot of army feet will need treatment!

Amazing Thailand :)

Sadly I must say at this time

Its the end for Thailand for many years to come

The army seem t be a pack of whimps and run at the very sight of a red shirt

If the Thai people thing they are in a mess now wait for a new government that has no poilcies except to line there own pockets

Ant the reds have set a standard so the next batch of coloured shirts will be able to say

IT WAS OKAY FOR THE RED SHIRTS

Sorry Thailand but you have no one to blame but yourselves

someone once said

Evil is not the biggest problem we face

But the acceptance of evil is why we pay the price in the end

There are almost 21 million people in Isan, two+ times Bangkok. They are mostly Reds. THAT IS WHY. Add a few other northern regions and the Reds would have majority. If the Thai military starts shooting for real and squashing the demonstrations, they will have major uprising in their hands pretty soon.

As the reds led by Thaksin refused to negotiate AT ALL, actually a clash was inevitable from the start of this.

Have there been any negotiations in Thailand in the last decade? I don't remember many.

I think 'my dad's bigger than your dad' is as close as Thai politics gets to negotiating.

What clash? There was NO clash.....Law enforcement run away like rabbits.....

I would wager my last baht army and police are told to back down

if reds pressure them. if they let reds thru and reds cause damage

to person, place or thing ... gov;t then have cause/reason to

over run the reds.

That is twice now army/police/whoever have let thru the reds

to major buildings/sites - thaicom + gov't house

Both times as soon as the reds were about to enter and do whatever

they red shirt leaders order them reds to stand down.
