Spouse Of Education Visa Holder

Featured Replies

Sorry if this has been covered before, but what are the visa options for the spouse. Is it possible for the spouse to arrive on 30 day visa exemption and convert to 90m day Non-Imm dependant visa in country, or do they have to go to a neighbouring country and apply. Worst case, do they have to apply in their home country due to non-availability of Non-imm in neighbouring countries?

Also what documents are required when applying for this type of visa?

Thanks for advice.

Best for your spouse to arrive in Thailand with a non-immigrant visa. You would need 21 days remaining on the 30 day visa exempt entry to convert/change to a non-immigrant visa at immigration in preparation for the dependent extension of stay. Are you here on an extension of stay based on education yourself?

There is no such visa - but if you are on a one year extension of stay a non immigrant O visa can be issued upon show of that extension of stay at a Consulate and then extended to match at Immigration. Believe spouse would be told to obtain a visa outside Thailand rather than a conversion being made. But it would be best to ask the Immigration office in your area.

If you are only here on 90 day visa entry there is no provision for spouse.
