Fishing For Info

Hello,

OK so I have been in Thailand for about 2 years now and am trying to find someone who can help me find a contact for potential jobs related to military work. I have not seen many jobs related to this and anyone who can point me in a direction would be helpful. Part time is best as I am in school now. Before I came here I was with the US Navy and did a security related job.

What does this guy have to do with anything? OK lets try again, I am looking for private security groups operating out of SE Asia or Thailand specifically and working out of this region. Think military contractors and you will have an idea. Not trying to go play swat team guy in Thailand. If there are any security agencies that provide ship security, that is my specialty.

I had an English friend who was a security guard in the UK.

He also was considering working in some sort of security position in Thailand.

He made many enquiries here, but all were unsuccessful.

In the end he found out that the only possible chance he had of acquiring a security job in Thailand was to apply to a British company in the UK that had a security contract with a Thai company in Thailand.

So it may be worth your while first applying to a US based company that have some sort of company or contract with Thailand.

Unfortunately being based in Thailand makes getting jobs with US or other country firms difficult. When you can't come in for an interview... But thanks all the same. My own research has found the same thing, and I am using this forum as a last resort for this more specialized type of security work.

Another option:

Do some research on line, searching for US companies that have companies or company contracts in Thailand.

If you are successful with your search, then contact the company in the US, by email, letter or phone and apply that way.

Definately worth a try.
