Lets Be About It..., Instead Of Just Talkin Bout It

I don't know if I'm breaking any rules or what ever, by saying this but it has to be done.

Yesterday I met one of my wife's friends from Uni, that we haven't seen for awhile. She's a self made Thai woman of means who apparently is a big supporter of The King and loves Thailand. She told us about how she got tired of getting angry in the chat rooms fighting with people online so she decided to do something constructive instead. So she contacted her facebook friends and started taking donations at the beginning of this month. The response was overwhelming she is already up to around 170,000 Baht (not a huge sum but for a single woman in Thailand and her handful of facebook friends it's not bad) That she has taken to Pramongkut hospital and is using to help severely injured soldiers make ends meet as well as provide aid to their widows and orphans.

The pics below are of some of the tons of get well wishes written there for them, and some of the soldiers at the hospital. I don't have any gory pictures of these guys but I know allot of their injuries are pretty horrific, missing limbs from the explosives the reds used, but if you visit the place you can see for your self.

They need help, Allot of govt's even in the west don't give as much as they could to their men and women in uniform ( I remember a plainly dressed Denzel Washington a few years back visiting a VA hospital in the States and writing a $4 million check on the spot)

Anyway the point is Allot of us here see Taxsin and his goons for what they are and want to do something to help but, without getting directly involved in the conflict.

If that's how you feel than here is your chance, go visit them at the hospital, put your money where your mouth is and give something. Lets be about what we are always talking about and do something more constructive than just arguing with people who want to support the terrorists.

Lets help those brave men and women who fell, out there risking their lives for pennies defending Thailand.

If your interested in donating to her fund she is going to be taking donations until the end of this month. You can PM me if you want more info on how to do that. She dose not represent some big NGO, it's just one woman trying to make a difference.

If for what ever reason your not comfortable with that then please go and visit the hospital yourself and maybe "adopt" a soldiers. Ya know, check out what his or her injuries are, and maybe brighten up their day with a lil attention and a envelop with what ever you want to put inside. Even something small would be appreciated.

Finally, I am not going to personally entertain any debates about politics on this thread, if you wanna help, help, ask me and I'll point ya in the right direction. If you don't that's fine too but I would appreciate it if we could argue it on another thread and keep this open for those that want to help.

Also should help all those injured not just the soldiers. :)

Agreed - I believe that is what the Queen has said she intends doing; after all, the majority of those hurt were "out there risking their lives ... defending Thailand", as they saw it.

You do that Brit. Personally I'm starting with those who I think are the most deserving.

And those that most deserve it are the men with automatic weapons shooting live rounds at peacefull protesters?

Boy have you got it ass around :)
