April 17, 201015 yr This years world cup in South Africa looks as if it will not be broadcast in Singapore. There are now two telecom companies trying to beat a deal out of FiFa to show the games. Singtel and StarHub have yet to agree on a price which will be handed down to us, the paying public. Last world cup came at a price here but , apparently, that price is now several times higher. So if you are planning a holiday in Singapore and hope to catch the internationals at the same time, you,ll be out of luck as they may not be shown.
April 28, 201015 yr Author SUCCESS!!!!!!!!! A bid that has been put by both Singtel and Starhub (about SG$21 million )has been accepted by FIFA and Singapore WILL get the World Cup games at last! It will come at a price though. The price which viewers can buy the service has not been released yet, in 2006 the price was $25 to subscribe. It will be more this time around but how much more, we will see? But who cares ???? At least we have the footy ................... Off topic but just for the info. Singtel have bought the rights to broadcast the English Premier League games for the next 3 seasons,,,for a cost of more than SG$300 million
