The best yoga studio in Thailand, and some say all of Asia, is called Yoga Elements, and it's located directly behind Central Chidlom. They have many beginner level classes.

I have no affiliation with them, just used to practice there.

Yoga Elements studio, next to Central Chidlom. The basic class is called yoga elements and its extremely user friendly. Classes are in english and depending on the day there can be as little as 5 and as much as 20 in the class. Students are probably 60% farang and 40% Thai teachers are farang and Thai and all nice people. Its a very laid back and friendly place, nobody is there to make a fashion statement, rates are about 50% cheaper than the big chain absolute yoga You can google the rates and class times.

I am not quite sure why everybody praises yoga elements...I am guessing that the choices for quality yoga in Bangkok are so surprisingly limited that they end up being the best of a bad bunch...

I am sure however that quite a few students there share my views, as I have witnessed numerous complaints from members about the lack of confort and cleanliness at the studio. Friendliness. depends. one of the receptionist is unpleasant for no reason, she also lies about membership payments and conditions...not very friendly.

Cleanliness. mediocre. the towels and the matts are old and stink. sometimes pretty bad.

Confort. low standards. a very small changing room with only 3 showers (with a rotten wood door) and 2 toiletts (that can't flush) probably meant to accomodate confortably about 5 people, but packed with up to 25. If you enjoy dressing & undressing in a cramped room, being elbowed in the process, and juggling with half your clothes on the floor, the place is for you. No working air conditioning either.

The teachers are mostly ok. One farang teacher is excellent. One thai teacher is not really good (and I am not sure she is actually a teacher). So pick your classes wisely.

The price is decent. Given what I just mentioned, I would not pay more.

I believe this studio was once the best in Bangkok...I wonder how long ago that was...unfortunately, the lack of love and care has been obvious for quite some time...
