Can I Apply For Non-b With Scanned Letter From Employer?

Featured Replies

My Thai employer is planning to email a scanned copy of signed letter on letterhead. Will the NY Consulate have any issue accepting this, or will they insist that I wait for the actual letter to arrive by snail mail?

Thanks

Maybe it would be a good idea to contact them directly, they are the ones that make the decision.

I'll just add to this, I don't have experience with NY, but I haven't had problems using copies, scanned documents, etc. at other locations.

Absolutely. Just curious what the "norm" is and previous experiences others have had.

I have used scanned letters from UK company for B visa ( for WP) at Kuala Lumpur and Wellington NZ without any problem. That said , the other posters advice is correct , ask the consulate you intend to use. Both embassies I used ( NZ and KL in Malaysia) had different requirements / interpretations of the rules.

I used a scanned letter in jan with the chicago consulate with no difficulties.
