drummer
I was poking around on-line and I ran into a slew of word games on-line. I had the thought that maybe my wife could benefit from playing some of them. Most of them were a little beyond her english skill (stressing my own vocabulary), but I had the thought - are there any ESL dedicated games out there? Any othner word games that might be good? Neeranam
Scrabble is a good game for increasing vocabulary. Upcountry, there are so many poorly spoken Thai wives, I was thinking of having a scrabble competition. Good Idea?
Nickerelastic
I had a look at this "adult literacy" from the BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise/words/listening/
drummer
I googled and found this site http://www.usingenglish.com/links/Detailed/158.html <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats for classroom teaching - games for groups. I'm thiking a computer game she can play here when she has nothing better to do. However, thats a pretty cool site. I especially dug the Singing games, as that would probably fly well here in Thailand, and work well, too. I've a friend who speaks excellent Thai - good enough that if Thai people hear him talk they think he is Thai. The way he said he learned is by learning to sing songs. i is really useful with the tones because they are written into the melody. If you can sing the melody, you can sing the tones.
