April 26, 201016 yr I have to take an overnight trip to BKK on May 6th-7th for an Embassy appointment at 7AM on the 7th. Since the drama has gone on for months now, and assuming it will still be going on in a couple weeks, the question I have is this: I realize there are specific areas affected by this but wondering how things are in the Sukhumvit Soi 8 and over to the US Embassy are shut down. Any answers thanks in advance
April 26, 201016 yr Sukhumvit is mainly fine. Only soi 31 and 33 affected sometimes. I haven't been down wireless Rd. in some time but at the moment I think there are no probs.
April 26, 201016 yr agree with above but who knows what things will be like when you come and don't forget the reds have marched to the US Embassy a couple times already.
April 26, 201016 yr Was just there this past week. No issues, but you might want to regularly check the ACS 'warden' messages just in case. We did the Rama IV approach onto Wireless (not sure if you can even drive down the other way from Ploenchit now?) with u-turn and drop off right in front with our driver going to park at All Seasons Place. Have heard from some friends that some taxis will try to avoid the area and ask to drop you off on I think Soi Ruamrudee. Edited April 26, 201016 yr by Heng

Wireless road is open and has trafic moving in both directions going to Soi 8 you are going away from the protesters so you could easily get a taxi there and back. (I work next to the American embassy on wireless road)
April 27, 201016 yr Also have a quick look at this thread. http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Embassy-Wire...os-t359633.html
