Thai Visas,

Featured Replies

:) Hello ,

Wonder if any body could help me , with my question ,

I have a retirement OA visa which was issue on the 19 june 2009 in the Thai Embassy in London ,i did enter Thailand on the 29 august 2009 ,with the immigration stamp saying admitted until 28 august 2010, so my question is , when shall i apply for a new visa , thank you very much for your help .

Mick

Depends if you have a Single Entry or a Multi Entry.

If Multi you can do a border run before 19th June and get another 12 months when you re enter.

If Single you apply for a 12 month extension at Immigration around 30 days before 28th August.

You need a letter from your Embassy stating your income of at least 65,000 Baht a month.

OR a letter from a Thai bank stating your balance of at least 800,000 Baht. This has to be in the bank for at least 2 months.

OR a combination of the two

Thank you very much for your quick answer and your kind explanation .All very clear ,i do have a multiple visa so i shall take advantage of it .

Thank you again .

Have a very good day

Mick

Remember if you exit the country after your visa has expired (ie, during 'Year 2' permission to stay) you will need to obtain a re-entry permit from immigration before departing to preserve that permission to stay on re-entry.
