What sense does it make to comment on any news story when you dont have first hand facts?

No one of us were there and have no idea what happened.

So why bother speculating?

Well I have to equally say - what is the point of a media organisation reporting the story when it is obvious they don't know the facts either.

Well from the Pattaya One report it seems most likely the whole thing was a staged robbery but who knows?

Close on 1500 Euros is rather a lot to be carrying on a night out but then this is Pattaya where everything is getting more expensive. :)

Mr. Reza Shivaz [31] from Ireland,

<snip>

Mr. Shivaz explained that he had been out to a pub in Walking Street, upon returning to his motorbike he observed a group of Middle Eastern men fighting in the street near the Marine Hotel. Stopping to capture video of the scene, using his mobile phone,

<snip>

The gang then severely beat Mr. Shivaz, cut him with a knife and robbed him of his possessions, which included; a mobile phone, 1,500 Euro in cash and his Honda Click motorbike.

<snip>

Police also interrogated a witness to the assault, Mr. Somkid Saeksap [38],

<snip>

Mr. Saeksap explained that he had not tried to intervene due to there being at least 6 men involved in the incident and that he was unwilling to receive a similar beating. Although he professes that he immediately assisted the victim after the violent gang had left, also notifying police.

Like the above quote, there are bits missing from this story.

The two other suspects, Mr. Ramin Rast Gar aged 27 and Mr. Mortesa aged 25 are expected to be caught soon as the Police know where they are currently staying.

Correction : Were staying.

Well at least we have a follow up piece, a pretty unique event for the Pattaya press.
