Visa For University Student From Us Visiting For Summer

Featured Replies

A friend's son just finished his first year of university in the US. He wants to come to visit his family in Chiang Mai for about 75 days. What is the best visa for him to get, and where?

If he just gets visa on arrival, Mae Sai is only a 15 day extension, right? And how many times can you do it?

Is there a 60 day tourist visa he could get and extend once?

thanks for suggestions...

Obtain a Tourist Visa from a Thai Consulate in US. This gives 60 days.

Within the final week of that 60 days he can extend for a further 30 days at Immigration 1,900 Baht fee for the extension.

He's an American kid, but his family lives in CM? Weird.

Anyway, regular 60 day tourist visas can be extended for 30 days.
