Laos Visa Running- 2nd Question

Featured Replies

Okay, so I understand the fees associated with a dual entry visa and how long it lasts - and thank you all for helping me with that. I called up someone at ThaiVisaRun.com and he quoted a price of 6,900 baht to take me there and back and pay for all the fees. Okay, that's not the problem. Is it normal to give out your passport information over the phone? Does anyone know about this company?

I feel like it's the same as giving my credit card number and faxing them my signature too:) This might be standard operating procedure, it's just very new to me, I guess. Any help would be appreciated. I'm supposed to leave tomorrow night.

Thanks in advance!

I use them all the time, both to Laos & Cambodia, never had a problem one of the better companies.

Why should you give your passport number? I cannot see why. If you want to use an agent to get a Lao visa, they need to have your passport anyway to go to the Lao embassy or consulate. If you go to Lao or Cambodia for a visa run, which costs 2.000 baht, they don't need your number on the phone. What would you pay 6.900 baht for? To get a new visa? Does not make any sense either.

WRT to giving out your passport details:

I've given out my passport number and have copies taken more times than I can remember. It's the main ID for any foreigner.
