ok. Time for a social network experiment. As the mods do allow free speech and will not ban him, yet what he is writing is driving 90% of us nuts, I vote to stick deadsnoopy on the ignore list. He is going on mine right now, the first one I may add since joining, I guess if we all do it, nobody will have to read the utter tosh spewing forth from him.

anybody second that? It's called peer group selection.

There is a red on tele now complaining he has been waiting for almost a hour to be seen by a doctor at Chua hospital, says it is terrible he has to wait so long.

som nam na

If you believe this then there really is no hope.

Try poking the doctor with your bamboo spear and see if he hurries up. Go with what you know.

lol

Bumrumgrad is just around the corner... why would he wait an hour? Doesn't sound life threating to me if he can call it in after an hour.

Yes, because the average red protester could afford to go to Bumrumgrad...to much fur on the brain. :)

I can't start it because of the temporary policy, but I would like to see a CURRENT poll here about member's opinions on the red shirts, especially given their latest terror tactics.

well attacking they hospital where the supreme leader was! wonder if they known - and if how disgraceful

It begs he question what might they do at another hospital where another supreme leader is in residence. Nothing seems beneath them now really.

Nah, he doesn't bother me. Its like a freak show. You can't have one without the bearded lady, the fat man, the conjoined twins, the wolfman etc. Remove one, and its not quite the same.

If the Reds intended to demonstrate double standards on the part of the judiciary/military etc, they have failed miserably. Not just with the hostpital but with their blatant attempt to draw the authorities into a bloody confrontation. As regards the hospital though- don't forget that aggrieved Thais can have long memories- google "Chulalongkorn Hospital refuses to treat injured police". That the reds would be suspicious of the hospital may be understandable- that they would storm the hospital and worse, kidnap two people, is unforgiveable.

Red's Smallest Victim

Below is a v. recent photo from Pantip.com site (scroll down to see others)

The caption reads: "This baby has upper airway obstruction due to a congenital disease. He has been hospitalized due to necessity of oxygen therapy. Surgery was scheduled but now canceled. We do not know when we can resume our surgery again."

BB adds: the baby is just one of many patients who have had to be moved from the main hospital because of Red Shirt activity.

I notice there's no oxygen tent around the baby. Also, though am not medically trained, I've heard exposing a baby to oxygen can damage the nerves in the eyes and cause permanent blindness. That's how Stevie Wonder was blinded. Am sure the doctors on hand know that, but just wanted to mention it.

Now we have the DSI (like the CIA) on tele saying someone tried to bomb Wat Pra kau fortunatly it didnt detonate

Is this confirmed?

saw it myself, I think it was the director of the DIS or someone like that, he said they knew who it was and ( if I understood correctly) that there was a reward for his capture

And about the red complaining about lack of treatment I didnt say it was life threatning I said he was on Tele complaining

Sad. There are lots of sad stories coming out about this now, but dont worry Jatuporn said it is justified to do all this as did Nattawut and belatedly after apologising Weng, so at least the red leadeship are now agreed that whatever happened at Chula and whatever the patients have to put up with it is justified.

Anybody who has had abdominal or spinal surgery before knows how painful any type of movement is. Even getting on to a wheelchair can take one's breath away due to the pain. Then you feel every little bump during the ride. I can recall being wheeled into an elevator and wincing just upon going over the entry part. Add to it the corner which is occasionally accidentally clipped and you see stars again, or when the catheter which is up your peter gets tripped on :) . Some of these patients surely suffered severe, needless pain. For what?

Obviously the hospital's decision to move them was made for the protection of the patients. However, respectfully, I never felt they were in danger of future gunshot, bombs, kidnapping or whatever and therefore think the move accomplished nothing.

If you have ever been stuck, immobilized in a hospital you will surely understand how many of those patients are very happy to be removed from the noise, commotion, and especially fear of the unknown. Stress is very bad for people with serious medical conditions.

I have a couple of questions for you.

1) Were you there?

2) Are you a Doctor? Are you a Hospital Administrator? Do you realize they would be at fault for not having acted should something else happen?

3) If something in fact DID happen, injuring patients, would you be willing to pay the damages that the hospital would have opened itself up to for not having been prudent?

4) Does the fact that the hospital was raided twice and 2 employees were taken away by the reds make a difference in your opinion?

5) Does the fact that the Reds put up their barriers again, blocking access to the hospital, under the orders of Sae Daeng, change your opinion?

Here's some pics of the conditions faced by patients evacuated out of Chula to a partially finished building. No guessing which way they'll be voting come December...

http://www.pantip.com/cafe/chalermthai/top...1/A9192681.html

It would be interesting to see the conditions of the hospital before they moved the patients. You're suggesting the mattresses were not stained before? And the fluids machine wasn't rusty? Considering the red shirts haven't harmed any patients, was there really a need to move them?

The patients are now used as a pawn in the propaganda war against the reds.

You should get back under that rock Thaikki

Indeed DSI are saying Wat Prakaew targetted with RPG

There is a belief about the existance of the "Emerald Buddha" and the Kingdom of Thailand. This actually DOES change things!

I can't tell you how happy I am that this attack apparently failed!

It's completely absurd how every time a "farang" has an opinion then someone has to counter that he/she doesn't have the right. I have been living in Thailand for nearly 15 years now, I have Thai children and run a business that employs 10+ Thais. Over the past 15 years I have probably paid more tax than some of these $#$ redshirts have in their whole life and I have helped support many Thais by creating jobs and opportunities. This morning we had to let go 6 Thai staff because the business has slowed down so much that we cannot pay their salaries. It's completely absurd and a stain on Thailand and especially The North. As a matter of fact my wife's family is from Udon Thani and she has always prided herself in being from Isaan, but not anymore.

It's also completely absurd how the western media is portraying this whole debacle. Had this taken place anywhere in Europe, the riot police would have been much more heavy handed than the Thai authorities. I am 100% certain that any MOB trying to block a European government using the means of the red shirt mob would have been dealt with quickly and decisively.

The way the police force is conducting themselves here is also outrageous. They are not paid to have an opinion, they are paid to uphold the law and if they can't they should be replaced.

The latest hospital stunt is the last drop and I fervently hope the army will find their balls and nuke these ass holes.

I started reading this but saw you are a farang and then realized your opinion didn't matter ;-)

I don't even take offense :-) I know I am a second class citizen and can in no way measure up to the moral conduct of ordinary Thais. Obviously I should be censored and kicked out of the country for having an opinion.

The two times you will usually hear your opinion is not welcome as a farang is when ...

1) you are giving an opinion which they don't agree with

2) You have some farang who things he is better then everyone else sharing his opinion on how farangs shouldn't share their opinion while in Thailand. What the fail to understand is that they are violating their own claimed belief since it is not up to them to have an opinion of how anyone speaks or behaves in Thailand.

In either case it is rarely ever a Thai saying you shouldn't voice your opinion. If they are, see #1

Nobody can deny Thailand is a copy cat society and has great interest in learning EVERYTHING about what is done in other countries.

Could we have a link to a source for this statement? The DSI website doesn't have anything about it. Not asking for your firstborn child, just for a link.

I agree with that and if you follow what happened the early evening lies to the crowd by Weng about soldiers being in the hospital, the paranoia plus the challenge by a young woman journo to produce evidence that Payap as an older man and from an important family couldnt handle was a recipe for self induced disaster and ironically casued by a typical elitist overreaction from Payap. The whole thing from there went downhill and is unjusitifiable which does beg the question of why it is still being jusitified. Pictures of patients being moved including prenature babies have been all over the TV and will no doubt tomorrow be on the front of most newspapers and on chatshows. It was a totally avoidable action too. Why diod they need to satrt saying the hosptial was full of troops based on a food delivery?
