McDonalds Silom Center Bombed

Just as everyone here has said, it makes no sense for the reds to bomb a McD's

What does make sense it that Mc-D's bombed their own store in order for the government to step up getting the reds out of the ELITE business area of Bkk and also collect insurrance at the same time.

The reds could always declare war on the USA! Get beaten to shi*, and then get a Marshall plan reconstruction type deal... free railways, roads, etc..

hmmm..

oh i forget, the US doesn't do reconstruction any more.. just big army bases and refineries :)

I've been in Kuwait in 91/92,(working),seen the Highway of Death. Seen Kuwait/Suburbs destroyed by retreating Iraqyis, looting pillaging everything in sight. Now history repeats itself in Bangkok,...

There is simply no connection between the two, at any level. Such an assertion would be laughable if some people did not choose to take it seriously.

since 80-90 % of protesters are from the central and northeast of Thailand, why dont you take your bamboo sticks, slingshots and car/trucktires and make a bonfire and jump into it,Sanuk Lah?

I have'nt seen an Thai/Indian,Chinese/Thai etc among the "Protesters cum Hooligans, because they are decent poeple and respect the law.

Hasn't it crossed your mind that just possibly this is because they are on the other side - the one which acted in a similar way, blockading Government House, closed the airport, etc? Clearly none of these people "respect the rule of law" - although some may actually be "decent people", on both sides.

Throwing a bomb (whatever the size) to a places like Mac Do,sky train etc, a raid at a hospital even without any casualties, has just 1 reason, to scare the public and tourists away. and theyr succeed in that, very well!

Truly amazing to keep reading of bombs being thrown and detonated and such minimal injuries. Same goes for the government soldiers "exchanging hundreds of rounds" with Khmer soldiers at the border areas and not one being hit on either side. Is it the reporting being done that is incorrect or are the police and soldiers and demonstrators that inept with firearms and explosives? Makes one wonder just what is transpiring in the Land of Smiles........

They are of course two possible reasons for bombs.

First Unhappy people, protestors if you like, wanting to send a warning. These would generally done against "Yellow" targets (Bangkok Bank, Airport Fuel Tanks, Yellow leaders homes, Army establishments etc..).

Second, Yellow side, this is done to create fear and panic and ramp up the hate of the Reds, targets would be soft (McD's, Silom BTS etc...)

The above is of course just speculation on what could happen, in real life everyone can research and make their own decisions.

Everyone is fully aware now that the media in Thailand is totally censored, anything anit-Red is pumped up massively, all other news is blocked. The media in Thailand is in effect a total propaganda tool of the Yellow side now it seems.

lucky for the reds they have you.

BANGKOK: -- The red-shirt protesters at the Lumpini Park refused to remove the bunkers on Rajdamri Road in front of Chulalongkorn Hospital in line with the order of the leaders at the Rajprasong Rally site.

Jatuporn Promphan, a red-shirt leader, announced at the Rajprasong rally site that the leaders sent Suporn Atthawong to remove the bunkers in front of the hospital.

But when Suporn arrived at the Saladaeng Intersection at 11 am, he encountered Maj Gen Khattiya Sawasdiphol, who would not allow the removal.

... now where was that red self-destruct button?

And who is reporting this ? YELLOW MEDIA PROPAGANDA.

How do you KNOW what is being said ?

It looks like last night they decided to rebuild it and thats it. When they want to take it down they will, but not before.

As Suthep has ordered it taken down it appears there is now a chance to make him back his words up, hence leaving it in place now perhaps ?

Who knows for sure oh Red One? I just think the governent look like having the upper hand at the moment. The longer they sit back now, the more likely the reds are likely to totally lose the plot, start in-fighting and blow themselves apart. As a result of their incredibly bad PR over the last week, many who were slightly symapathetic to the movement to begin with are now quite appalled by their actions and blatant lies. They are losing momentum, running out of ideas and beginning to draw widespread condemnation. Give 'em enough rope and they will certainly hang themselves

The Reds said they would "ramp up" pressure to prove the government is not in control of the country.

Looks to me like they are proving that ?

A test here is now will Suthep clear the barricades ? or is he not in control ?

Playing games ? I think the reds are...... allowing Team Yellow enough rope to slowly hang themselves.

Yo! Khun Daeng. Will Suthep clear the barricades? I guess here's you're answer, just in around 15.30:

She was there, or she was told?

I would expect that most of the reds (even the leaders) don't know what the other reds are doing.

...and my dad told me that Australian Aborigines never did anything for Australia. My dad didn't lie...he told me what he thought was true. Too bad he was & still is wrong.

"The hospital did not hear our apology. They dramatised the evacuation of patients, turning it into a tragedy to paint Red Shirt people as bad," Jatuporn Prompan, one of the group's core leaders, said in news conference.

"We have been made to look like terrorists and very soon the crackdown will begin," he added.

Quote from Humungus: They've invaded a hospital, messed with TV signals at Thaicom, blocked highways, stopped public transit, frightened sick women and children, threatened arson, committed terrorism, kidnapped people, taunted police, closed shopping malls, canceled Songkran, ruined the tourism industry, poured blood on the streets, stolen bodies, barricaded public roads, cost thousands of people their jobs, broken numerous laws, intimidated politicians, harassed citizens, fought the army, and threatened to send Thailand into a downward spiral of civil war that could tear the nation apart for decades to come.........

Why would anyone in their right mind think these miscreants (google it if you don't know) were bad or terrorists? As I have said before and I will say it again this guy is a lunatic. Hopefully every red leader will in the near future have a new home for life at the Bangkok Hilton. And also hopefully they drop the soap in the shower repeatedly. They full well know the damage to Bangkok and all of Thialand they are causing. This is their goal. They will stop at nothing to get their "leader" back.

Please tell us more. How is your girl friend privy to this inside inforamtion? If she know this then surely she knows who was responsible for the "McDonalds situation". Please ask her who was responsible and post here. Waiting for your reply but I don't think it will come.

I second that, this is the truth about the reds... its not a conspiracy against them just the facts!

Anyone who think only the Redshirts can do wrong is living in cloud cuckoo-land.

And those who think the redshirts can do no wrong aren't any better

and those that think both sides are dangerous, dictatorial and incompetent are probably in a majority

Quite so.

But how do we know it was the red shirts that bombed McDonalds ?, it may have been Chester Grill infiltrators.

Everyone can and does do wrong my friend, you and me included. The point is the reds have turned into a mob out of controll bringing untold damage to the whole of Thailand. Causing thousands of poor people (who they are supposed to represent) to become unemployed with no way to support their familes or send their children to school. And that is just one of the untold consequences of their continuing rally. These guys are not suffering one bit. Staying in hotels while the sheep are sleeping on the streets . Also at the first shot fired they run like rabbits and leave the sheep to fend for themselves. We saw that this week. They have been offered an election a year ahead of schedule by the government which they rejected immediately. Do you ever wonder why they rejected it and demand the PM to resign immediately and hold elections in two months. Surely you are smarter than to believe their rhetoric. See below.
