British Passport From Hong Kong

If anyone has sent off to Hong Kong for a new (renewal) British passport did you send your old one with the application, or do you have to send your old one and if so, was it returned with the new one?

Will it be ok if I don’t receive the new one until after my old one expires which is on the 3rd June 2010?

If anyone can advise on this from personal experience I would appreciate it.

As of yet we have not applied via Hong Kong but the Embassy service in Bangkok was excellent lets hope this continues.
