What Are My Rights-renting A Room In The Uk

Featured Replies

Hello all.

I'm sorry to ask this on a Thai related website but not sure where to go.

I am renting a room in the uk until my wife returns from her visit to thailand but there is no hot water in the house.

In bathroom the hot water tap doesnt turn on, also in the bathroom you can have a shower but the pressure is so low and the bracket on the wall is broken so it cant hold the shower head so you really have to shower with one hand.

There is a shower room also but it only gives out cold water.

As you have probably guessed it the landlord does not live at the property. All the other tennant moan but dont do anything about it.

I am stuck here until the end on the month until my wife returns and I move but I'm fed up woth not being to havea bath or shower.

I have considered with holding the rent but the landlord has my deposit so I'm not too sure what to do.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks .....slippery

P.S forgot to mention that they are registered with the local council and was wondering if I should go down that route.
