May 6, 201016 yr I am looking at leasing a building in the Ayuttaya area, and the landlord has a general "Building Lease Contract" that appears is used by many small property owners in Thailand. The contract looks like it has been purchased from an office supplies store for general use, and "is obscenely biased in favor of the landlord, so much so that one Thai lawyer told me that several of the clauses in it are actually illegal and unenforceable, or at least laughable enough that it makes the whole contract into a sort of joke." (slice-of-thai.com) If anyone else has signed this type of lease and has had any issues resulting from it, this would be of great help!! Thanks
May 8, 201016 yr There is no such thing as a "standard" contract. What's standard is that it's a standard con job used by landlords and others to victimize the inexperienced.
