How Come

Featured Replies

I was just reading a post which was closed because with the reason that there are no political discussions or something to that effect.

Why can't people discuss politics? Do the moderators think that this site will create ripples in the Thai political arena? Why such a drastic reaction from a site that is just one of the countless forums for people to discuss Thai issues. Other sites discuss politics and have been running for a number of years so I am sure that the Thai authorities are also oblivious to their existence too.

Can anyone explain the cause for such drastic rules?

Because they are shit scared of the truth here.

End of!

I don't understand what you mean. The truth of what?

For the most part, it is restricted to the news section now. Its a temporary policy as long as Thailand is in crisis. Could be a very long time!

Thanks, but I still dont understand why. Its not as if anyone of any importance in Thailand even knows this site exists let alone cares what a handful of foreigners think.

You can discuss politics but whilst the current political situation exists, discussion is limited to within the "Thailand News Clippings" section.

ProfFart, I think your life here will be quite short...I hope.

You're funny :)

I just don't like imbeciles...hint hint.

Good riddance to you.

A wannabe Mod is a prat who has nothing to bring to the table but snipe inanely at posters with far greater knowledge than them.

Ok, well I'll leave you two to your personal battle!

Peace!

:)

You're just as weird as the other guy.

If you look at the General Forum, there are seemingly more political threads being started than any others.  The General Forum is for threads which don't fit anywhere else, and as the News Forum is filled with threads on these topics, that is the area to post opinions and observations.

This is a temporary measure.

You're just as weird as the other guy.

It's to stop the forum being cluttered up with repetitive crap threads every time someone feels like talking about the news.

:D Only one sensible post and you get slated....life is so unfair elkangorito.... :D

See the post above. Now I've got 2 sensible posts :D

as Bonobo has explained above, and also expressed in our Temp policy pinned thread here: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Temporary-Po...al-t355369.html

Thaivisa is definitely not discouraging political discussions about Thailand's crises. Far from it. I dont think it would be wrong to say that Thaivisa currently has the most active English language discussions, with comprehensive compilation of various news sources on the situation available. And for that very reason, we are trying to have all discussions take place in a few selected threads, rather than the random 10s of threads that are being opened to discuss the same things.

this is now closed.

cheers
