haveaniceday
The misses want to go on a visa run and maybe do an overnight trip. I puled the good advice below off TV but it is more than 3 years old. I know that Laos PDR has some system of no passport needed with the Thai ID card for 3 days. Just hopping. Anyone know the latest? People are getting confused here. For a bog standard trip to Cambodia, you'll need a passport and also purchase a visa on arrival. If you are going to the border to use the casino's etc, Thai's can get away with crossing over for the day with no visa formalities, but they can't go any further. Unlike going to Laos, most Thai's can't get a border pass to visit Cambodia. these are only specially available to Thai's with a house registration in a province which borders Cambodia. In summary, you'll need a passport and visa if you are Thai and going for a regular holiday.
Soutpeel
Thai nationals can get to the Casino on Thai ID only, but technically you have not crossed the border into Cambodia. If you cross into Cambodia proper then Thai national needs a passport and visa

A passport and visa is a definite requisite , may even have to get it in advance at the Cambodian Embassy , call and ask .
