Former Insurance Agent Arrested for Defrauding Abbot of Over 100,000 Baht
A former insurance agent was arrested on October 12 for defrauding an abbot of more than 100,000 baht. The woman, identified as Ms. Wanna (surname withheld), 34, from Songkhla, confessed to using the money for personal gain. The arrest was carried out by the Central Investigation Bureau, following orders from Police Lieutenant General Jiraphob Phuridech, Commissioner of the Central Investigation Bureau. The suspect was apprehended at a rented house in Bang Klam district, Songkhla, by officers led by Police Captain Thanakarn Uchanaratsamee. The warrant for her arrest was issued by Thung Song Provincial Court for charges of fraud, following an incident that took place in April 2023. Ms. Wanna approached the abbot of a temple in Nakhon Si Thammarat, posing as a representative of a major insurance company. She convinced the abbot to purchase life insurance for his mother, promising coverage for five years, with an annual premium of 115,560 baht. Trusting her, the abbot paid the premium in cash, which was recorded on a voice clip. When the abbot’s mother fell ill with cancer and attempted to claim the insurance, the company revealed that no policy had been issued. Further investigation by the company showed that Ms. Wanna had been dismissed as an agent in April 2023, after collecting the abbot’s money without forwarding it to the company. As a result, no policy was ever registered. The abbot reported the case to the Thung Yai Police Station, leading to a police investigation that tracked Ms. Wanna to a rented house in Songkhla, where she was eventually arrested. She admitted to the crime, stating that she had used the funds for personal expenses, and accepted the consequences of her actions. Thanks for your reply but I am not sure if this is gonna work. I am hoping to get some other options other than the Google 8-digit code when I try to login again because I think we should wait at least a week to try with the google recovery again. -

It was the google codes that were saved in a txt file on my Laptop but my hard disk was formatted and data was deleted. I tried to recover the data with EaseUS but I couldn't recover that txt file. I am using the same Laptop from the same location at the moment. -

It might not have been deliberate, but it is still dangerous driving if the driver had not seen the bike. Unfortunately this is not unusual in Thailand where (and elsewhere) that drivers do not look for bikes big or small. -

Man Arrested for Attacking Disabled Sister and Children in Chumphon
A man has been arrested in Chumphon province for allegedly abusing his disabled sister and three children in a shocking incident that took place on October 11. The suspect, identified as Chai (pseudonym), was reportedly under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the abuse. The village head, Somphun Suwan, was alerted to the situation by Chai’s older brother, who could no longer endure Chai’s violent behavior. The incident occurred at their home in Songpinong subdistrict, Thasae district. Somphun immediately coordinated with the 25th Infantry Regiment’s special task force and local officials to investigate. When authorities arrived, they found Chai sitting outside the house, calmly denying any serious wrongdoing. He claimed he had only used mild physical punishment on his children and that his sister, who is disabled, had accidentally injured herself by slipping in the bathroom. However, the scene inside the home told a different story. Chai’s 12-year-old son and six-year-old twins were found huddled together, visibly exhausted and frightened. His 30-year-old sister, who suffers from a brain impairment that prevents her from walking, was found with a serious injury. Blood was flowing from her right ear, and she was immediately rushed to Thasae Hospital for treatment. A drug test conducted on Chai revealed methamphetamine in his system. Police Lieutenant Colonel Wichit Samanyamuang, Sub-Inspector of Sawi Police Station, and other local authorities, including Arunee Sombunrat, Deputy Chief of Songpinong Subdistrict, and Nuanwan Watsanit, a psychologist from Chumphon’s child and family shelter, were brought in to assist with the investigation. Chai was taken into custody for further questioning, while social services placed the children under temporary care. Legal proceedings are expected to follow. Chai’s older brother expressed deep distress over his sibling’s behavior, blaming Chai’s addiction to methamphetamine (yaba) and alcohol for the escalating violence. According to the brother, Chai had frequently beaten his children and severely assaulted their disabled sister, which resulted in her ear injury. He believed the outburst stemmed from a misunderstanding regarding a 10,000-baht government aid, which Chai falsely accused him of taking. Chai’s 12-year-old son also shared the trauma they endured, revealing that their father’s temper had worsened recently, with daily beatings becoming a norm. The child stated that he and his siblings were often slapped and kicked. He described a recent incident where Chai, in a rage, attacked their aunt, causing her ear to bleed. It's well known that the Thai diaspora is quite large. 2016 stats, but even then, 1.1 million Thai's working / living abroad. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overseas_Thai Plenty on the net about it. This was at the top of the page of a quick Google search. 1.1 million people out of around 70 million people may not sound like a lot, but picture a lot of that 1.1 million people sending money back to Thailand every week / month from working in the west and it's considerable remittances. -

Should the issue return, an idea is to buy another router and connect it to the ISP's router using an ethernet cable. You then have full access to all settings, configurations, passwords etc etc because you own it. You connect your devices to your own router. No need for anything expensive. It's just to give you full and complete access to the settings of that router. Basically, just use the supplied ISP router as a gateway.
