Singapore Thai Embassy

Featured Replies

Is Singapore embassy open on the 20th May? Does anyone know here? Since the Thai government had announced additional holiday on May 19-21. I tried to call but no one answer and I called Thai immigration they had no idea either.

And what is the tourist visa fee now?

These holidays are for Bangkok only.

what nationality are you? normally you should get 15 to 30 days for a holiday visit, the visa fee is gratis complimentary.

(why don't you google Singapore Visa entry.. for further info concerning the nationality who need visa requirement)

Sorry, mis-read your inquiry. I don't know about the Thai embassy in Singapore, pardon me.

Thank You :)

Better call the embassy to see if open. I was caught out once when embassy closed for Thai holiday. They also close for S'pore holidays. Lucky fellows.

I had called the whole of morning and 2 hrs ago, but no one answer. :)

Hi - like to hear back from you on the Singapore experience.

I was stunned at how rude one of the two women was - shrieking 'no visa no visa' when she scanned my TV application while I was waiting in the queue. I didn't have an air ticket out of Thailand. I did have a Thai bank acc updated the previous day with a substantial balance which was quite acceptable to the woman who took my application.

My partner came along and was embarrassed/horrified at the 'show' of public impoliteness.

Neither woman spoke Thai.

Dreadful advert for tourism.

I'll never darken their door again.

Lodge your application before 11.30am, available for collection after 1 (or could be 2) the following day.

If I’m not wrong, you are referring to the lady that wears glasses. She’s always scans tourist’s visa application while they in the queue. I had applied my visa there many times and what I saw was, she always talking rudely to people that apply visa.

I can't remember; she certainly doesn't give a good first impression. If I had been a first-time tourist I'd likely have chosen another country to visit.

My Thai partner came along with the intention of being able to assist with any questions they may have had, and she had some questions too. Sometimes things can get 'lost' in translation. She was disappointed to find they had no Thai-speaking staff member available

That is strange. That lady that I told you earlier can speak Thai. I saw her communicated with a tourist using Thai. Anyway she never gives me much of trouble maybe I look like a Thai but I do have my bad experience with them for the first time applying visa there. One of the counter lady that look like a Chinese, shouted at me for not showing my air ticket to her. Well, I have no choice so have to apply there. My advised, next time apply in Malaysia K L. I heard is better :)

I have encountered problems with the 'Chinese/Thai' woman at this Embassy also. One time I was in line and an American was at the counter and she was shouting at him that he didn't have the necessary travel documents. He offered to show her that indeed he did (on his laptop) and she shouted at him that she wasn't looking at his computer and that he had go and get her a printout. The entire place was stunned and very quiet during this outburst. I was next and she just threw the Application back at me and shouted at me to get out of the Embassy. Incredibly rude. Also the muslim woman there can turn into a tyrant at times also. This Embassy gives off very bad vibes about Thailand.

When I was there last week, the lady wanted me to show up 1000usd dollars to submit my application for a tourist visa, whaaat

There is always a requirement to show money for a visa issue (although not often checked) but normally it is 10/20k baht for tourist and 20/40k baht for non immigrant.

just a comparison, and I know it's internal Thailand rather than external . . . today to Aranyaprathet for a 30-day extension, have to say the best service (apart from my original application in NZ a year+ ago), such friendly staff, chatty (English!), free iced water/coffee, couldn't believe it.

Was told it would be far easier if I got married! but I turned down this joking proposal. At least I think she was joking.

Anyway, top marks.

As I mentioned earlier, never, ever for Singapore.

There are 2 sections to that embassy. The front is for foreigners and is the busiest. For Thai nationals who need help with passport or other issues it is to the rear and opposite the entrance. I had to pay $50-Sing in March and everyone was polite and helpfull. Turn in your app between 10-12 and pickup between 2-4 next day. The only air ticket they were concerned with was my travel into Thailand. I always go as early as possible regardless of which country and have found that helpfull.
