Red-Shirt Leaders Plea For An End To Riots

I wonder what sentences these guys will get. If they get only 1-2 years they will do it again.

Well, there was some talk about the death sentence. Not sure if there's any truth to that, but if there is, it will probably do wonders to heal Thailand's already deep divisions.

About the only thing I could ever agree with you on.

Weren't the leaders especially Nattawut and Arisman the ones that encouraged the protesters to burn the city? Now that it happened they don't to take responsibility for their actions!

From one of the videos of Arisman, many of his named targets have already been hit, but there are still some remaining targets from his list that haven't been burned to the ground.

I wonder when that will occur and what the ramifications will be.

According to Arisman on this video, his list of targets for burning are:

Siriraj Hospital, All Muslim Mosques, Government House, Important Ministries, Airports, Rajavithi Road, Bridges, Bank of Thailand, Commercial Banks, Military Barracks, Court of Justice, and NGO's

will all be destroyed....

"Not one of these will remain standing."

So how come that all those those are still standing? And none of them have been attacked or destroyed?

They didn't have time. Like one their leaders said "we didn't expect this" (the crackdown).

btw, is there nothing that the reds can say or do that you will not at least say "that is not right". the video shows them saying mosques and hospitals should be burned and all you can say is "so how come those are still standing?" you and the rest of the red cheerleaders are just pathetic. and all for a few lousy baht. disgusting.

Se Daeng already got his Death Sentence.... Next..!!

Exactly. And we have now all seen the kind of problems that incident brought. Do we need 20x more?

Although there was absolutely no correlation to his death and the escalating violence (actually it help allow authorities to save innocent lives while clearing the violent lawless mob) ... whatever it takes to get his terrorist followers off the street.

Its amazing how pathetic the legal system in Thailand deals with terrorists and criminals of its own when comapred to the treatment of falang , which is usually severe and without mercy. Seems the corruption is deeply instilled in the Police , army and parts of the legal structure. A failed state on its slippery slope and deservedly so.Not being able to protect its central Shopping malls from the Terrorists. An Army aand Police not worthy of the name but maybe worthy of Thailand

He (Red-shirt leader Kokaew Pikulthong) said all sides were equally obligated to stop stoking the inflammatory situation

No. Abhisit was TOO patient with the terrorist Red-Shirts -NOT equally to blame. Reds are 100% responsible, and this man needs to stop the propaganda and spin.

Was Abhisit being willfully patient, or is he leading a government that is incapable of governing. This situation should have never been allowed to get to this point.

People have a right to free speech, but a Government has an obligation to represent and protect the rights of the 99.5% of the population who do not see color. Sadly along with the reds the current Govt. failed miserably.

The tables finally turned when the government "found" soldiers willing to shoot for them.

Evidently from this TAN News tidbit; the 'peaceful protestors' in front of the red-rabble stage at Rachaprasong were a little heavy handed after Central World started burning, and filled their pockets before they reported for the government's free bus ride back to Nakhon Nowhere.

TAN: Luxury items found on some red shirt protesters returning home on buses. Some valued over 10,000 THB

Oh, before the ever present foreign sock-puppet red apologists weigh in with their 2 satang's worth; here's a correction. They're probably 'fake reds' :D , or yellows dressed as reds :) , or ninja warriors dressed as reds :D, or maybe monks dressed as reds :D (Red apologists pick one), what is apparent that they are NOT is the 'dark blue shirt evil doers' as alleged by one of the red leaders when asked if reds were looting. Why would 'dark-blue-shirt-evil-doers' take the free bus home to Nakhon Nowhere?

Just maybe they're nothing more than plain rank-n-file sheep-like red protestors who didn't get their last pay check before their 'party was crashed' and decided to 'settle up' how ever they could.. :D

Speaking of Newin, didn't I read that Thaksin's red goons in Chiang Mai attacked Newin's fathers house the other night? Not a bright move. I think I'd rather have the Thai official govt wanting to settle a score with me than Newin.

This man is real evil and is the elites next man after Abhist. They just need to wait for his ban to finish.

Stick with those ESL classes my boy!!

From your semi-coherent engrish posts, I can see they're definitely starting to pay off.

Maybe someday you could work on including something called FACTS in your pedantic postings.

One baby step at a time, so we'll save the 'big words' for another day.

Keep at it, you'll get there.

And again I shake my head over BBC World reporting.

The pictures from communist protests in Greece showed a crowd outside parliament in Athens. The BBC speaker mentioned a single rock that was thrown against the security forces in riot gear and described the tense situation in Greece. The message was clear: Communist protesters in Greece threaten stablity and the economic recovery.

2 minutes earlier a BBC correspondent described in colorful words the stage of the red shirts who, a few days ago "were dancing and listening to the speeches of their leaders"... Then pictures of crying protesters being led away by police and medical staff. Also this message was clear: Poor farmers being forced from their peaceful rally site.

Again not a single word that the hatred speeches of those crooks on red shirt stage have fuelled the crowd to the point of creating a nightmare in Thailand. Those speeches did not start yesterday or after April 10 - they blasted their hatred out since years! None of them was charged with insiting unrest, not even for their orders to come to Bangkok by the million with one empty bottle in their hands, buying the fuel in Bangkok and burning the city to the ground with Bangkok's own fuel, not stolen but paid for.

Of course, 95% of farangs in this forum have no clue of all of that, relying on (biased?) translations by their Isan girlfriends...

Radical preachers are arrested or expelled from Britain if they say just half of what the red shirt leaders pounded from their stage. And it does not take authorities to wait 2 years...

nor would they let some of the leaders walk, or get a chance to "report in" -thats ludicrous. gives them a chance to regroup or flee..like Weng's coward a_ s

It's quite possible that these guys really didn't know what Thaksin had planned all along. He could have told them to make the fire speeches without informing them that this was his actual intention. They wanted to cut the deal remember? Probably saw their freedom and nice salary dangling in front of them when he pulled the rug out. At least that is what Sae Daeng claimed.

It has been reported that Jautporn has been released from arrest due to his status as an MP giving him parliamentary immunity.

Yesterday at the Red stage ,other speakers also threatened AV and his family and now Kokaew has done it again today.

As others have said ,last night seemingly pre-planned attack have brought the reasons for last two months activities into focus. With Arisman wanting to burn down Muslim mosques ( ethnic cleansing ) Thaksins aims have become clearer, to create a Thai version of Burma with Arisman as Minister of Culture , Weng as Information Minister, Jatuporn as Foreign Minister and Nattawut as Chief Creep and Thaksin as El Presidente for life.

True! Some of the red shirt leaders realized it when Thaksins and Kattiya's refusal to accept Abhisit's plans materialized. They made a move. The hardliners kept going.

I also doubt (just like you) that the masses real noticed what the background intend was. Sad.

Do you have a credible source for this statement? Or is that your opinion?

TheItaliann. I think you are right about the troops never quite knowing the whole picture.

There is not other person on the scene with the motive and the means apart from Thaksin. The arson attacks, if proven, will be his first major miscalculation
