Animal Welfare Groups?

Featured Replies

At the risk of sounding incredibly naive, I'm wondering if anybody knows of any groups in Hua Hin that work helping or rescuing stray animals. I read this article that suggests there are volunteer groups working on the issue, but I have no idea on how to go about finding them.

You could always give a call to SCAD in Bangkok.

They are an organisation who takes care of stray dogs and find homes for them.

If nothing else, they might be able to direct you to someone in Hua Hin.

The number to SCAD is: 08 453 514 52

Good luck :)

Thanks so much. I sent them an email and will call if I don't hear back from them.

Better late then never. :)

HEADROCK DOGS Dog Charity in Bang Saphan, Thailand

In 2008 Headrock Dogs evolved from Hua Hin Dog Rescue Centre which was formed in 2001. The new name was given due to changes in our operational procedures. Our sites in Hua Hin and Pranburi have closed and we are now based in Bang Saphan 190 kilometers south of these Thai towns.

Our objective is to run a leaner and more cost effective operation with less overheads.

We no longer have a large facility housing dogs taken when sick but with little chance of getting adopted without a highly active adoption programme. We learnt from our experiences with Hua Hin Dog Rescue Centre the prohibitive costs and associated stresses of running such an operation.

Our strategy is to care for sick street dogs, beach dogs and Temple dogs in their own environment whenever possible. We also aim to undertake as many neuterings as finances allow and to re-home recovered or abandoned dogs or puppies as quickly as possible.
