hi

i wonder if somebody has been or is in the same position as me and could possibly give me some direction.

after talks with my wife, i have come to the conclusion the wifes parents need medical cover as we will be footing the bill if anything untoward happened.

1. could any body reccomend a good policy

2. estimated cost, parents are 54 in good health

3. is it worth it, or should we pay as we go

My wife pays(who pays) 35000 Baht for medical insurrance each year, for that she receives 200 000 Baht coverage. its not a good deal as medical bills for a week in a good hospital will hit that amount easily. The company is Ayudhya.

How about B30 medical scheme?

Do they have 'batr thong (gold card)'?

Whether or not they choose to use the card under the scheme, it might be wise to ask for it if they don't have it yet.

thanks for the reply's

yes they have the gold card but that is not enough cover from what limited knowledge i have of coverage in thailand, but i think with an enhanced policy to run along side that should be enough.

i will be looking into the 35000 insurance policy

once again thanks

best regards

Are you sure?

It should cover anything from brain surgery to heart transplant.

I use gold card to buy medicines worth B18,000 every 4 months.

And that is exact same medicine I used to buy for that amount at Bamrungrad.
