Is there any chance somewhere that I can see the Football Worl Cup in the English language.

Yesterday was the first day and already had a big dispute with the wifey fight about this problem.

I think that is the reason that the THAIS are still backward in speaking English.

Need to listen to the English commentary instead of hearing those dam two Thai blokes trying

to proounce the names of the players.

First off, I am intrigued to know what a "wifey fight" is?

Secondly, are you suggesting that because Thai people do not watch English commentary footbal that this in some way is affecting their English language skills?

Third, if you are such a keen football viewer then you obviously know the rules well enough to understand what is going on!

Do you actually know the names of all international footballers, if so, then commentary in any language should be okay for such an expert.

I in Patong and the local cable TV shows the matches also with English commantary on ASTRO channel.

I do not know how to get that channel in the country side, but I read? that there is a special WORLD CUP packege from TRUE MOVE UBC you can order-for a Upgraded price of course, with English commentary.

But not sure about that, a GOOGLE, or a look at the TRUE Website will help.

What is a little downfall, is that the sound on both the Thai channel and ASTRO you does not really hear the cheering of the people but only the special South African trumpets?

Not used to that sound experience, seeing an international event, I cannot say that that sound on TV is an improvement!

I'd like to see the those vulvas vuvuzelas the supporters are blowing into that make all the noise dubbed into more appropriate instruments depending on who's playing. A nice Brass band when Ing-ER-land are on the pitch for example. Droning Digeridoos for the Aussies, maybe some uptempo accordion accompaniment for the French and so on.

Just wail until the Swiss arrive with their Alphorns.

Why should you expect English audio like it's normal? You live in Thailand ! The national language is Thai ! Maybe you might want to consider your lack of understanding of the country your in rather than the lack of understanding of the people's knowledge of your home? What would your answer be if you heard someone complaining about no Arabic commentry if you were in your home country ...... I think most can guess that one! There are ways around your problem, why not try to explore these before blaming others for your inability to find answers for yourself?

P.S. - If you still can't think for yourself after a while, PM me and i may tell you a way around your problem. :)

I have no problem with the language, I have a problem with that Southafrican trumpet sound, BBBBBBWWWWWWBBBBBWWWWWW makes me dizzy and does not allow to hear the cheering of the spectators without a trumpet on the lips! Sorry that! bah.gif

Yeah those Vuvuzelas making me dizzy...taking all the fun out of the game. No chants, no whistles....

I think they should give the WC only to the big football nations. Sorry bout this, but there is too much tradition in this thing. Remember the WC in the USA? Boring as well. Brazil 2014 will be better though.
