What has this world come to folks?

I gave up my seat on a bus to a Thai woman who I thought was pregnant. Turned out that she wasn't. I noticed her standing, and her bulge looked like there was life inside. So I waited for some Thai to vacate their seat first. They didn't. So I stood up, walked over and gave her just a little tap on the head with my finger and pointed to my seat and pointed at her belly.

Well she went NUTS!!!

She was swinging her arms, elbows, fists. Somehow they all made contact with my body and face.

I was screaming "sorry" in Thai, but this just made her even more angry. Anyway she stopped the attack after some people on the bus dragged her away from me and calmed her down. I at this point was a bloody mess curled up like a ball in the floor, I actaully started crying which I was a bit shy about, but my emotions were everywhere at this point and the driver allowed me to get off at the next stop.

Has this happned to you before?

I'm still in shock :)

Obviously in need of some cross cultural education. :)

She may well have over reacted but it's best to avoid the little no-no's even though many don't give a toss.

i know your intentions were good and meant too been seen as a kind gesture, but its not such a wise thing to do when trying to get a thais attention by touching any part of their head.

its just not a done thing out here! especially if you catch the person off guard, shock them and are a complete stranger/farang.

I've been always told touching someones head is extremely rude. Same as pointing someone using bottom of your feet. So maybe she was concervative or then just bit self concious of her weight.

In any case i would not go over to anyone in bus tapping their heads, yes i would offer my seat if someone clearly pregnant and looking a seat would walk past me.

If she was just standing it can be she was not looking to sit down but was ok standing and did not appreciate farang making a scene and touching her.

Live and learn...

She did have her eyes filled at the time with plugs, producing music for her to enjoy.

I have been told I should not have touched that head of hers.

I just never knew she would explode like that in such a public place. I just had nowhere to run, I just took the blows, fell down, curled into a hedgehog like ball, but without the spikes, and waited for help.

So you just finished reading a "Thai dos and donts for dummys 101" and decide to try to incorporate some of the material into your trolling?

What's next? When you were getting off the bus you accidentally pointed your foot at a police man and he beat you up too?

Then you fell over during the beating and knocked over a poster of a certain important person and a lynch mob came after you?

I do what I do to brighten your day.

Come on guys, read some of these posts, they are depressing as hel_l.

//My wife divorced me and took everything.

//My cats breath smells of poo.

//My neighbour makes too much noise when he sleeps.

//My back hurts.

I don't like reading some of these, life seems so much nicer when funny, bad things happen to other people, i.e, me. So comment, laugh and have fun people. I mean no harm to any of you, just a joke a day, keeps death away, I have been told.

Umless I am reading this wrong, the OP has admitted that this was a figment of his imagination which he posted as a "joke."
